Two Tone Engagement Rings
Two tone engagement rings can be a stylish and inexpensive alternative to the standard engagement ring. With the
right choices in gemstones and metal your engagement ring can be as unique and beautiful as your bride.
History
During the Renaissance period there was a style of ring called the Gimmel ring or twin ring. These rings were
often made from two or three rings that would interlock. One of these rings was worn by the bride to be another was
worn by the groom to be and sometimes a third ring was worn by a witness. During the wedding ceremony all three
rings were reunited to form one ring. Once reunited the rings are worn by the bride as a wedding band. Often the
rings where made of more then one color of metal making them a two tone engagement ring.
Styles
Two tone engagement rings come in many different styles.
Celtic: The interlocking knots of a Celtic ring lend itself well to the intricacies of two
or more tones and metals.

Generally the finger will show through these types of rings under the stone.

form one ring. These rings also known as Gimmel rings are simply beautiful in a two tone ring.
Decorated rings: Decorated rings incorporate flowers, hearts, and other symbols in the
design. These rings are often made with two or more metals and colors.

actually be a difficult choice. The colors of many of the different metals offers such a rich color variety that
creating just the right custom two tone engagement ring may require more then two tones.

own.

unmatched.
Sage gold: Sage gold is a very light green in color and makes an excellent choise for more
nature oriented rings.

with all of the other shades.
